BRAWA 40909 - H0 express train locomotive BR 001 DB
Prototype information
In 1930, the Hanover depot received a further 01 locomotives, including the 01 088, which Krupp delivered with the serial number 1167. This was handed over to the Magdeburg Hbf depot in 1935, but continued to run primarily on the east-west mainline between Berlin and Hanover. It experienced the end of the war as a Magdeburg locomotive, but was apparently parked in the western occupation zones, in the area surrounding the home RAW Braunschweig, so that after its repair it was back in service in Hanover from 1947. After the north-south route was electrified, it was passed on to Osnabrück. After two interludes in Paderborn and Hamm, she returned to Osnabrück, from where she was soon transferred to Rheine. Here she traveled with a 2'2T30 tender to, among other places, the Netherlands - there it was only possible to shoot on a 20m target, which meant that the tender was short. In 1964, 01 088 finally settled in southern Germany. It came to the depot where it held up the flag of steam traction until 1973. In 1975 it was dismantled by Bavaria Stahlkontor in Grafenwöhr.
