Novelty 2024: The model of the BR 93 takes into account all the specific special features of the DR model machine in Era IV. The PIKO steam locomotive impresses with successful mold construction, sharp engravings and numerous, separately attached parts as well as excellent driving characteristics. The model has a modern Next18 interface for easy retrofitting of a digital or sound decoder.
In Prussia, people were always striving for rationalization, so in the late 1910s, tried and tested design principles were used to design a new tender locomotive resorted. Parts of the drive and running gear were taken over from the proven G8.1 with a few changes. The new locomotives were incorporated as the T14 series. A total of 457 examples were built for the Prussian State Railway. Subsequently, the Reichseisenbahnen in Alsace-Lorraine also ordered 40 locomotives of this type. After the Second World War, the genus 93.0–4 was scattered across Europe. Freshly repaired, it was used again in divided Germany as well as in Poland, Belgium and Austria. The DB used its machines until 1960, with the Limburg depot and the routes between Lahn, Dill and Sieg being their last refuge. At the DR, the service lasted until 1971, where the locomotives were used, especially in and around Berlin, primarily by freight trains. The model has TT close couplings!
