Roco 70800 - diesel locomotive 236 216-8, DB, DC
Model details
Diesel locomotive 236 216-8 of the Deutsche Bundesbahn.
Version without roof canopy
Enlarged cooling water expansion tank
Additional fuel tanks on the front of the engine
The diesel locomotives of the type WR 360 C 14 were originally used by the German Wehrmacht for use at strategically important points. With the end of the Second World War, they became a civilian all-rounder.
Although the V 36 curiously ran under the same name in West and East Germany after the war, there were clear differences between the two versions: On the DB, two additional fuel tanks on the front of the engine increased the range of the locomotive. In addition, the DB-V 36 was given a front radiator grille in the DB design and a cooling water expansion tank on the front. The side radiator fan grilles were closed with panels, and a side maintenance hatch on the front end was omitted.
The last locomotives, now known as the 236 series, were in use by the DB until 1981.
