BRAWA 46641 - H0 local transport car Bnrzb778.1 “City-Bahn” DB
Role model information
In order to replace local trains and make branch lines more attractive, the German Federal Railway (DB) introduced the new City-Bahn train type when the timetable changed on September 30, 1984. Under the motto “City Train – Without traffic jams every hour”, a regular timetable was introduced and existing n-cars were modernized for this purpose. The Cologne–Overath–Gummersbach–Meinerzhagen route, which is in danger of being closed, was the first connection with this offer. The 25 n-cars, including seven control cars, received a modern interior and were painted pure orange/pebble gray, similar to the Rhine-Ruhr S-Bahn. The sets were expanded to include a café.
