After DB Regio Schleswig-Holstein emerged as the winner in the tender for transport services in 2015 as the new operator of the RegionalExpress trains Hamburg-Altona - Westerland, the carriage sets previously used by the Kiel Railway were taken over by a leasing company and rented to DB Regio . Since it was foreseeable that the cars would have a new exterior design in the Schleswig-Holstein state design, the previous color concept of the North-Baltic Sea Railway was only carefully changed. The entrance doors of the cars were painted turquoise instead of melon yellow, the operator logos were also replaced, and the person ordering the service, “NAH.SH,” was clearly advertised on the sides of the cars. Some of the control cars were given silver-gray “bibs” on the front, but some remained in the melon yellow of the North-Baltic Sea Railway; This is also the case with our model. All models correspond exactly to the original in terms of paint and lettering. The cars have close coupling links with NEM coupling mounts for close coupling. The interior is multi-colored. As with the previous H0 models, these cars also have built-in interior lighting as well as head and tail lighting that changes with the direction of travel. The lighting boards already contain a digital decoder that also works in analogue mode. The operational reliability of the lighting is ensured in each car using buffer capacitors (“gold caps”). The train destination indicators on the cars are each backlit in a matching color. We had the boards completely redeveloped by the company KRES in Fraureuth near Zwickau, and production also takes place in Fraureuth.
