Role model information

Early on, some types of freight wagons began to be standardized in Switzerland. These were then purchased by all private railways in order to improve repairs and spare parts inventory. These included covered freight wagons with a 4.5 m wheelbase and a frame length of 7.10 m. Later, the wheelbase was increased to 5 m to improve running characteristics. In this form, the cars known as K2 were purchased in large quantities by the SBB.
