Decoder update device MXULFA from ZIMO
MXULFA is more than a simple decoder update device; it is designed more as a small digital system. The tasks include (software expansion level 6):
- Loading new software versions (software update) from a USB stick into all types of ZIMO decoders (locomotive, function, accessory decoders), vehicle with decoder on the "update track",
- Synchronous update for ZIMO accessory decoders of the MX820 generation installed in the system,
- Loading sound projects from a USB stick into ZIMO sound decoders, vehicle on the "update track",
- Fast sound loading (approx. 1 min instead of 10 min) via the decoder's SUSI interface,
- Driving operation & Switching functions for one address at a time using the MXULFA controls (scroll wheel, 4 buttons, LEDs) to test the vehicle being worked on,
- Programming and reading the CVs of the connected decoder or vehicle, writing in and checking the loading code for coded sound projects
- All of the above tasks can also be controlled from the computer; no USB stick is used in this case, but all data (software update files, sound projects) are transferred via the USB interface (client). Programs such as ZSP (ZIMO), ZCS (Manhart), PfuSch (Sperrer), etc. are used on the computer. A suitable USB cable is also required for this. This is also available from us under the ZIMO name MXULKAB.
MXULFA can be used as an inexpensive workshop system, and in many aspects can even be used for third-party decoders (of course not when it comes to software updates and sound loading). Control and display elements of the MXULFA: 4 buttons, 1 scroll wheel, 8 two-color LEDs and display (2 x 16 characters). External connections: screw terminals for power supply, rail (update track), "SUSI" plug, USB (client, to computer), USB (host, for USB stick).
The MXULFA and thus also the connected vehicle are supplied by any voltage source (direct current 10 - 16 V, alternating current 10 - 20 V). Therefore, no power supply unit is included in the standard delivery, but is available as an accessory if required!
