The so-called diving goggles or goggle snake was developed and built by CKD in Prague. The T 478.3 series (from 1988 series 753) was delivered to the CSD from 1970 and dominated traffic on the non-electrified main lines with 408 locomotives. Due to the lack of locomotives with electric train heating, over 100 machines were converted with it from 1991. The Reko locomotives were given the new series designation 750 with the same serial number.
