The steam locomotives series Ty2 of the Polish State Railways were in use from 1942. They are war locomotives of the series 52 of the German Reichsbahn. After World War II, 1,207 locomotives of this series remained with the PKP. Until the end of steam traction, the Ty2 was the largest locomotive series in Poland. Several locomotives of this series have survived to this day.
