The Pinzgauer Lokalbahn (PLB) has connected the tourist region around Zell am See for over 125 years. Initially run by the ÖBB, the railway was handed over to the state of Salzburg in 2008, which still owns it today. In addition to modern vehicles for daily pedestrian and school transport, the PLB also devotes a lot of attention to the preservation of historic vehicles. These vehicles are used to offer the extremely popular nostalgic trips between Zell am See and Krimml.
