Originally built at Simmering-Graz-Pauker in Graz, in 2018 the Steiermarkbahn brought two locomotives of the 1142 series, from the railway company ESG, back to their old homeland in Germany. After an overhaul with a new coat of paint, the multiple traction capable locomotives are back in use and are reliably fulfilling their duties.
