In order to ensure that there are enough locomotives available for the Amsterdam-Breda route and to be able to expand this service, the Dutch State Railways ordered a total of 19 additional TRAXX F160 MS with the DE/AT/BE/NL country package and a top speed of 160 km/h in 2014. The 186 001–019 were delivered between 2014 and the beginning of 2015 in yellow/blue. Since 1 June 2018, the Dutch locomotives 186 001–045 have been owned by Akiem as part of a sale/lease back process.
