After the Deutsche Reichsbahn had gained operating experience with the V 60.10, the design was optimized: The V 60.12 series, from 1970 onwards the 106.2-9 series, received a new driver's cab that offered more protection from rain, snow and sunlight. In addition to structural changes to the chassis, the front stem now had three double doors and the rear stem had two double doors. The model has the large driver's cab, the headlights on the engine stems, many individually attached parts, metal coupling rods, digital and sound retrofitting prepared
