Novelty 2022: Print version of the 1st/2nd edition Class passenger car of the DB in Era IV. A family of commuter cars from the German Federal Railroad is known among railway fans as Silberling. The vehicles owe their name “Silberlinge” to their stainless steel car bodies. Over 5,000 examples were built between 1961 and 1980 and were available from DB Regio until the beginning of 2020. The cars are also often referred to as n-cars after their sub-genre symbol. With the n-cars, PIKO has added a vehicle type to its range that practically cannot be missing from any model railway whose theme is based on the Bundesbahn or DB AG. As with the prototype, the models also differ depending on the car class in terms of window layout and interior design; the dimensions have been converted into size N in accordance with the prototype. Mold construction at the highest level ensures extremely plastic-looking bogies and the high-quality painting and printing that PIKO is used to gives the vehicles an excellent finish. The vehicles are prepared for the easy retrofitting of interior lighting.
