PIKO 53275 - Apron express train car B4ylwe 2nd class DB III
With new car number
Schürzeneilzugwagen B4ylwe 2nd class of the DB Ep. III
"These striking passenger cars were created from two prototype cars developed by Linke-Hoffmann-Busch in 1939, which were based on the well-known DRG-" Apron" express train cars. They also had streamlined side aprons and paneled car ends. Unlike the express train cars, the entrances at the car ends were set back and each had two revolving doors for quicker passenger changes. After the war, both the DB and "The DR kept this type of wagon in its inventory. In 1978, the DB still had three wagons now listed as Bye670 and one AByse633. The DR retired the last vehicles of this type in 1981. Only three of these Schürzeneilzug wagons have been preserved as museum vehicles for the traditional train of the Nuremberg Transport Museum."
