Novelty 2022: Variant of the Rh 1044 in the version as Rh 1144.2 of the ÖBB in era VI. The Rh 1144.2 model takes all the special features and details of the original into account. With the newly designed PIKO 1044/1144 there will also be authentic models of the high serial numbers of this series in 1:87 for the first time. The characterful locomotive face of the former ÖBB parade horse was excellently captured in the model implementation, as was the striking side section of the vehicles, which definitely posed challenges for mold construction with the pronounced beads and the typical “portholes”. The resulting impression of ideal visual effect is continued in the bogies of the locomotive. Last but not least, the new 1144 is technically impressive: a five-pole PIKO motor, on whose shaft there are two finely balanced flywheels, ensures consistent propulsion. Model railroaders who prefer digital operation benefit from the mfx®-capable PluX22 sound decoder, which is already factory-installed in the sound version. The lighting change, which is mandatory today, was realized using contemporary LED technology, as was the attractive driver's desk illumination. However, the driver's cab lighting, which is also available in the PIKO model and can be switched in digital mode, is not a given.
