PIKO 51585 - Electric locomotive BR 187 Stern & Hafferl VI AC version
In October 2018, the Stern &
Hafferl company received the new 187 333 "Last Mile" in the company's own
design, replacing the previously used
Railpool 187 315. Mainly for Rail
Cargo Austria hauls the trains between the cement works
Gmunden and Ebensee. The 187 series,
as the first representative of Bombardier's now third Traxx
series, embodies a state-of-the-art
electric bogie locomotive for systems with
15 kV and 16.7 Hz as well as 25 kV 50 Hz alternating current.
As a special feature, the new machine has a
180 kW diesel auxiliary motor, with which it is able to
short connection sections that are not covered by overhead lines
to be driven over at around 50 km/h.
