PIKO 51621 - Electric locomotive Rh 1044 ÖBB IV AC version
Novelty 2020 / 2021: With the newly designed PIKO 1044/1144 there will also be authentic models of the high serial numbers of this series in 1:87 for the first time. The characterful locomotive face of the former ÖBB parade horse was excellently captured in the model implementation, as was the striking side section of the vehicles, which definitely posed challenges for mold construction with the pronounced beads and the typical “portholes”. The resulting impression of ideal visual effect is continued in the bogies of the locomotive. Last but not least, the new 1044 is technically impressive: a five-pole PIKO motor, on whose shaft there are two finely balanced flywheels, ensures consistent propulsion. The center conductor version of the model is factory-equipped with an MFX-capable digital decoder. The lighting change, which is mandatory today, was implemented using contemporary LED technology. What is not self-evident, however, is the lighting in the driver's cab and driver's desk, which is also available in the PIKO model and can be switched in digital mode.
