Novelty 2021: For the first time in the history of model railways, a locomotive appears on the model of the large railway, which bears the logos of the two model railway companies Märklin and PIKO.

A special feature of the locomotive 218 497-6 is an eye-catching special paintwork is the result of a creative competition among the employees of DB Fahrzeuginstandhalte GmbH (FZI).

It symbolizes the history of the Cottbus location, which ranges from steam locomotive repairs to maintenance of ICEs.

The locomotive will continue to be located at the FZI Cottbus in the future and will be available to customers as a replacement locomotive.

The two model railway manufacturers Märklin and PIKO act as joint advertising partners for this project. The company logos of both manufacturers are placed alternately on the front sides of the locomotive, both on the original and on the model. The PIKO logo adorns the black half, the Märklin logo on the light gray one.

The PIKO H0 model from the Hobby series is also available as a sound version for the first time. The new PIKO SmartDecoder with load control is used for this. The sound project has been completely resampled with recordings on the original machine. The 218 497-6 from PIKO is the proud bearer of the new PIKO TrainSound® seal of quality.
