Novelty 2024: The PIKO model of the 245 series appears in red paint with DB Biscuit and “bwegt” logo. The 245 is a series model that differs from the pre-production locomotives in the number and design of the roof and side vents and the chimney. Particularly particularly precisely manufactured parts and assemblies should be highlighted, such as the solid die-cast zinc frame, etched metal ventilation grilles, the prototypically detailed bogies and numerous free-standing attached parts, such as the front handlebars. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital centers, a new quality mark “fits mfx®” was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx® test and have passed it completely.
These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the “fits mfx®” quality mark, which indicates unrestricted mfx ® Functionality certified. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx®” logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
