PIKO 37601 - G conversion car AB3yg 1st/2nd Class DB IV
Current wagon number: 38113 Nür
From the mid-1950s onwards, the series of passenger train wagons, known as conversion wagons, were created through the conversion of
Lländerbahn compartment wagons on the German Federal Railroad . Second class cars, first and second class cars and second class cars with luggage compartments were built. For many years they were indispensable in local transport on main and branch lines . It wasn't until the mid-1980s that
the last examples were taken out of service, but they still run today on museum railways or as construction vehicles. In the original, the electrical equipment of the
3yg(e) cars only allowed this to form a short-coupled
couple, whereby you were free to choose your car, so that all possible combinations except
BD3yg + BD3yg were possible.
