LemkeCollection LC4454 - Setra S8 Knecht Reisen (CH)
Otto Kässbohrer developed one of the first buses with a self-supporting, stable and sufficiently torsion-resistant body in 1951.
This design made it possible to dispense with a base frame (chassis).
While other designers up to this point of buses with a self-supporting design had not yet made the breakthrough, the design of the Setra S 8 became the cornerstone of Kässbohrer's later success with the Setra bus brand.
