Since its presentation at Innotrans 2010, the Vectron from Siemens has developed into a real bestseller - over 750 machines to over 30 different customers in more than 17 countries and there's no end to it in sight. New variants are added almost every day - and they drive across Europe. Thanks to its multi-system capability, the Vectron is the ideal locomotive for use on the tracks of Europe. SBB Cargo machines travel from Switzerland to the Netherlands or TXL Vectron from northern Germany to Italy. The Vectron is now also at home in Eastern Europe and the Balkans. From 2018, Siemens will be offering the Smartron for Germany, a preconfigured locomotive that is currently only available in capri blue. The Smartron is particularly interesting for smaller companies operating within Germany and enables customers to operate cost-efficiently with a high level of operational reliability.
