The next SLR driver was Karl Kling with start number at 7:01 a.m. 701 covers the 1,600 km route. Afterwards, at 7:04 a.m., the driver team around Hans Herrmann and co-driver Hermann Eger said goodbye with the starting number. 704 from Brescia and gave the spurs to the SLR. Last but not least, the young daredevil Stirling Moss and his co-driver Denis Jenkinson catapulted into the racing battle at 7:22 a.m. with starting number 722.
