One of the spiritual fathers of the “Uhlenhaut Coupe” and the 300 SLR Roadster racing versions (W 196 S) was the leader the Rudolf Uhlenhaut testing and racing department. The Uhlenhaut Coupé named after him (there are only 2 versions worldwide) also differs from the “normal” 300 SL (W 198) in its even more dynamic body shape.
