Prototype information

Their red, metallic grey livery with red banding matches that of the contemporary CC 6500 locomotives. These first class carriages were built in 103 examples (34 A8tu, 40 A8u, 6 A3rtu bars, 10 Vru restaurants and 13 A4Dtux baggage cars) and operated as a homogeneous set. As soon as they left the factory in July 1970, they were used on the "Etendard" (not yet TEE) Paris-Bordeaux, then in the winter service of 1970/71 on the two "Capitole" Paris-Toulouse, which had become TEE at that time, replacing the red YUIC carriages.
From 1982, one of the "Capitole" trains includes "Grand Confort" carriages converted to second class, making it a 1st and 2nd class train before finally leaving the TEE pool on 30 September 1984. From 1991 to 1995, modified "Grand Confort" carriages were used on the "Euraffaires" trains between Paris and Toulouse, then on the limited route from Paris to Brive until the 1998/99 winter service.

 

Model details

- The interior lighting already works with about 5 V without batteries.
- To turn it on and off, simply touch the roof at one of its ends.
- Large buffer capacitor for dirty track sections or other contact problems.
- Memory function for the status of the interior lighting (ON/OFF). This feature is useful for digital emergency stops, stopping an entire section of track or stopping a train in a station in analog mode.
- The light can be dimmed individually for each car by simply touching the roof for more than a second.
- Integrated factory output, no soldering or disassembly of the car required
