The Vossloh DE 18 is a diesel locomotive manufactured by Vossloh Locomotives since 2010. It has a maximum power of 1,800 kW and a maximum speed of 120 km/h. It was ordered by Akiem in 2016 to replace SNCF Réseau's BB 67200 under the designation BB 79000.
The DE 18 is an electric-powered diesel locomotive with a power of 1,800 kW, a speed between 70 and 120 km/h and an MTU engine with 12 V cylinders inclined at 90°, and a weight of 7.85 tonnes. It operates with low emissions and low consumption. For certain railway renovation operations, it can run at a constant speed. It can also be used for maintenance work on the high-speed lines in France.
