Jägerndorfer JC22802 - H0 DC electric locomotive DRG E 88.212 green sound
The progressive electrification of the Western Railway created a need for freight train electric locomotives. The electrical part of the 22 locomotives was supplied by AEG, the mechanical part of the first 15 locomotives by the StEG locomotive factory. The Floridsdorf locomotive factory produced the remaining 7 machines. The machines were used by the Deutsche Reichsbahn as E88.2. They returned to Austria in the early 1950s and were used again as the 1280 series. All machines were then phased out by 1976.
