In March 2018, Flixtrain's first long-distance train premiered on the Cologne – Hamburg route. Since then, the green trains have connected the two metropolises on the Rhine and Elbe every day. The second connection from Berlin to Stuttgart followed in April. The trains are driven by electric locomotives of the BR 182 (ES64U2 Taurus) rented from MRCE and Hectorrail. 182 505 is the only machine that is completely wrapped in Flixtrain colors. The 182 202, which was delivered to Siemens Dispolok in 2002, is no stranger to use on passenger trains, as it was already in use by DB Fernverkehr and DB Regio. Licensed by Flixtrain!
