In Switzerland, the double-decker express train cars of the SBB, which were procured from 1997, are referred to as IC2000. These passenger cars, which are approved for 200 kilometers per hour, were originally purchased in five car types (Bt, B, BR, A, AD), although some of them may differ slightly. In addition, various changes have been made since delivery, so that later there are seven and today there are six different types. They differ from the other European double-decker cars primarily in the transition located on the upper deck. After the extensive modernization of the cars, which will cost 300 million francs between 2019 and 2024, they will then be called IC2020.
