The locomotive decoder N025 complies with the NMRA-DCC standard and can be used with all DCC-compatible central units, e.g. from Lenz, Roco, Zimo, Uhlenbrock (Intellibox), Fleischmann (TwinCenter) and Digitrax. Furthermore, the decoder "understands" the Motorola data format and can therefore also be used with the Märklin control centers (e.g. control center 6021).
Thanks to the most modern component and circuit board technology, the double-sided decoder is only 3.3mm high.
The dimensions of the decoder are 11.4 x 8.8 x 3.3 mm.

The integrated load control of the decoder keeps the speed of the locomotive constant regardless of the load. The motor can be controlled at a high frequency of approx. 16 kHz for particularly quiet motor operation or at a low frequency for the operation of older motors.

The decoder can be expanded in DCC format either to one of 127 base addresses or to one of 10239 Addresses (also referred to as 4-digit addresses) can be set. In addition, the decoder supports operation within multiple trains through a consistency address. In the Motorola format, up to 254 addresses can be used.

Depending on the control center, operation can take place with 14, 28 or 128 speed levels. The speed characteristic can be adjusted particularly quickly and easily by programming the minimum, middle and maximum speeds. In addition, your own characteristic curve can be set using a speed table with 28 memory locations. Different maximum speeds for forward and reverse travel (e.g. on steam locomotives) are also possible.

The two function outputs of the decoder can be used either for directional light or for light and an additional function (e.g. steam generator). Effects (e.g. flashing, strobe light, dimming, etc.) can be assigned to each function output, and the repetition frequency of the effects can also be adjusted.
