The series 185.2 is an electric dual-system locomotive with a crash-optimized locomotive body from Bombardier Transportation. It can be used on both alternating voltage systems commonly used in Europe, 15 kV/16 2/3 Hz and 25 kV/ 50 Hz. The first machine of this type was handed over to Deutsche Bahn in January 2005. By 2009, 202 locomotives of the series 185.2 had been delivered to DB AG.
