By 2022, the 18 BLS locomotives of the Re 465 type will be modernized and given a new coat of paint. To enable use with Vectron and Traxx locomotives in freight transport, suitable multiple control systems will be installed. An Ethernet Train Backbone will also be implemented for the traction of the auto tunnel and future Goldenpass trains. The baptismal names attached to them will no longer be used. The work will be carried out in the company's own factory in Bönigen.
