In May 2019, Strukton acquired its first electric locomotive. A locomotive from the former 1600/1800 series of the Dutch Railways (NS). The company number at the time was 1824. After a thorough overhaul and repainting, it was christened "Nicole". It is currently regularly used to transport machinery and infrastructure materials to support work on the Dutch tracks.
Strukton's goal is to equip the electric locomotives with batteries so that they can drive independently on routes without overhead lines. Work planning for the renovation is currently underway.
