Installation recommendations
In general, we recommend installing the speakers far away from the motor to avoid excessive heating of the speakers and to protect the speaker magnets from demagnetization by the sometimes very strong motor magnets (e.g. Roco).
Please note our installation recommendations for the LS1412 speaker:
Weigh down the speaker with a heavy object (pliers or solder roll) so that it is not pulled towards the soldering iron by the magnetic forces and destroyed.
The solder connections are on the plastic housing of the speaker, so solder quickly and carefully so that the housing does not melt.
Use double-sided adhesive tape to attach the speaker.
Please note our installation recommendations for the LS1115 or LS1511 speaker:
One side of the loudspeaker is the membrane (silvery surface), surrounded by a clear plastic frame. Stick the loudspeaker with this side to a flat surface and use as little adhesive as possible so that it does not penetrate into the interior of the loudspeaker. Do not use adhesive tape for this, as this would also hold the membrane in place. However, the membrane must be able to vibrate freely so that the sound can be generated.
The more (air-)tight the connection between the loudspeaker and the surface, the better the noise development.
The other side of the loudspeaker is a magnetic metal cover, surrounded by a black plastic frame. Solder the connecting wires to the two small metal flags.
When soldering, weigh the loudspeaker down with a heavy object (pliers or a roll of solder) so that it is not pulled towards the soldering iron by the magnetic forces and destroyed.
Please note our installation recommendations for the LS1308 loudspeaker:
One side of the loudspeaker is the membrane (silvery surface), surrounded by a metal frame. Either glue a sound capsule to this side of the speaker with superglue or glue the speaker with this side to a flat surface.
Use as little glue as possible so that it does not penetrate into the interior of the speaker.
Do not use adhesive tape as this would also hold the membrane in place. However, this must be able to vibrate freely so that the sound can be generated. The more air-tight the connection between the speaker and the sound capsule or the surface is, the better the sound development will be.
