Installation recommendations
In general, the recommendation is to install the speakers far away from the engine in order to avoid excessive heating of the speakers and to protect the loudspeaker magnets from demagnetization by the sometimes very strong motor magnets (e.g. Roco).
Please note our installation recommendations for the LS1412 loudspeaker:
Weigh down the loudspeaker with a heavy object ( pliers or soldering tin roll) so that it is not pulled and destroyed by the magnetic forces on the soldering iron.
The soldering connections are on the plastic housing of the speaker, so solder quickly and carefully so that the housing does not melt.
Use Use double-sided adhesive tape to attach the speaker.
Please note our installation recommendations for the LS1115 or LS1511 speaker:
One side of the speaker is the membrane (silvery surface), surrounded by a clear plastic frame. Stick the speaker with this side on a flat surface, using as little adhesive as possible so that it does not penetrate the interior of the speaker. Do not use adhesive tape for this as this would also hold the membrane in place. However, this must be able to vibrate freely so that sound can occur.
The more (air-)tight the connection between the loudspeaker and the base, the better the noise production.
The other side of the loudspeaker is a magnetic metal cover , surrounded by a black plastic frame. Solder the connection wires to the two small metal flags.
When soldering, weigh down the speaker with a heavy object (pliers or soldering roll) so that it is not pulled and destroyed by the magnetic forces on the soldering iron.
Please note our installation recommendations for the LS1308 speaker:
One side of the speaker is the membrane (silvery surface), surrounded by a metal frame. Either glue a sound capsule to this side of the speaker with superglue or glue this side of the speaker to a flat surface.
Use as little glue as possible so that it does not penetrate the interior of the speaker.
