Model information
The 2224 m high Nebelhorn is the local mountain of the health resort Oberstdorf in the Bavarian Allgäu. The Nebelhornbahn AG was founded in 1927 with the purpose of developing the Nebelhornspitze for tourism.
Construction began just a year later and the Nebelhornbahn was completed in 1930. When it opened, it was the longest passenger cable car in the world. The lower Nebelhornbahn, the model for the BRAWA model, overcomes a height difference of 452 m over a length of 2.2 km. The average gradient is 20.9%. At a maximum speed of 10 m/s it has a transport capacity of 630 people per hour.
