Role model information

In the event of a disaster, the DB always had to keep a stock of passenger cars ready that could be quickly converted to transport the wounded. Since the Bundeswehr had to deal with this issue several years previously, the DB was able to rely on an existing design. Since a higher loading weight was required for the wagons, design changes were absolutely necessary. The most noticeable change was the roof, which was straight through to the end of the car, which earned the car the name "Stipdach Silberlinge". The AW Karlsruhe built a total of 180 cars for the DB in 1969 and 1970, all of which were equipped with disc brakes and without steam heating.
