Prototype information

Between 1970 and 1982, a total of 873 locomotives were put into service, with the 132 series machines with the ability to supply the train busbar and a permissible speed of 120 km/h making up by far the largest proportion. The Deutsche Reichsbahn set a standard service life of 20 years for the locomotives. After 1990, the designation Ludmilla was used - although this was not common among railway workers.
Today, only vehicles from the 132 series are still in use at Deutsche Bahn.
In addition, two test models (130 101 and 102) were delivered in 1973, which, in addition to the originally required top speed of 140 km/h, finally also had the required train heating system. In terms of construction and technology, these two test locomotives were already largely identical to the series 132 locomotives derived from them and purchased in large numbers by the Deutsche Reichsbahn from 1973 onwards.
