BRAWA 61218 - N diesel locomotive BR 216 DB
Role model information
When the Deutsche Bundesbahn's standard type program was drawn up, a mainline diesel locomotive with an output of 1500-1600 hp was already being considered. The engine and drive system of the resulting V160 is closely based on the V100 locomotives. The class 216 locomotives were in use in almost all federal railway departments. They were used in passenger and freight train service, where they performed well. The 216 118-0 was based at the BD Münster in the Oldenburg depot in the early 1970s and was used from there primarily in passenger train service.
