BRAWA 61037 - N diesel locomotive BR 232 WFL
Role model information
After the 130 series (top speed 140 km/h) and 131 (100 km/h), the DR introduced the 132 series (120 km/h) with an electric heater in 1974 Service. With this configuration, the optimal machine for the DR was found. Therefore, the DR procured 709 locomotives from the Voroshilovgrad factory. After some initial problems, the operational service had a reliable and versatile machine at its disposal. The locomotives delivered in the first year were almost exclusively distributed to important railway depots with train transport tasks in international travel and freight traffic.
