Consisting of a 1st class compartment carriage, type Avmz 111.2, a 2nd class open-plan carriage, type Bpmz 291.2 and a 2nd class compartment carriage, type Bm 235.

For the summer timetable 1987 New quality standards were set for the cross-border InterCity trains with regard to rolling stock, speed and service. Trains that met these criteria were given the name "EuroCity".
The EC 24 "Erasmus" connected the Tyrolean capital Innsbruck via Munich and Frankfurt am Main, then along the Rhine via Emmerich with the Dutch capital Amsterdam.

The carriages of this set were taken from the end of the train or the front of the train in Emmerich according to traffic demand when the locomotive was changed to the Dutch electric locomotive. Since they were only used in Austria and Germany, they did not have to be multi-voltage carriages.
