Role model information

The great need for shunting locomotives on the one hand and the beginning of structural change on the other led the Deutsche Bundesbahn to develop the V60 series. The first model in 1955 was followed by 941 additional locomotives over the next eight years.
Their reliability and robustness helped the DB's last newly developed diesel locomotive achieve true cult status and make it indispensable to this day in many train stations and on line services.
