The first articulated tank wagons were built in the early 1990s on behalf of the wagon rental company KVG. Created using modern lightweight steel construction, the 3 degree downward sloping boiler halves enable the greatest possible emptying of the transported goods such as mineral oils, gasoline, diesel, etc. Suitable for higher speeds, the wagons were soon added to the fleet of other companies across Europe. Most of the wagons are used as private wagons in the special freight wagon parks of the respective state railways. They can be found on rails all over Europe.
