With the newly designed model of the VT 2.09 of the DR, PIKO is responding to an often-mentioned wish of many model railroaders for a contemporary, detailed and operational version of the well-known piglet taxi. After developing the innovative control logic of the DB rail bus, for which PIKO received the Golden Track in 2017, it makes sense to now also implement the widespread counterpart from East Germany with great attention to detail. The railcar is powered by a powerful micro-engine that is equipped with flywheels to ensure perfect running characteristics and has a factory-installed buffer capacitor for optimal driving characteristics without sound interruptions. The drive acts on both axes. Railcars and control cars can be coupled to one another via current-conducting short coupling kinematics. The lighting functions of both vehicles can be switched separately, allowing a clear view of the passenger compartments.
