In the 1960s and 1970s, the V 160 and 216 series were the express train locomotives for routes without contact wires on the Federal Railway. The new design of this important vehicle type not only closes a gap in Piko's range, but will enrich many model railway systems from eras III to V with numerous variants. The development team has implemented the distinctive shape of the model in the model with outstanding quality and at the same time achieved ideal driving characteristics. These attributes are underlined by the effective use of perfect engravings and a paint finish that is consistent down to the smallest detail. Contemporary LED technology serves as the basis for the light change in red/white as well as the light functions that can be switched by retrofitting a digital decoder. The digital interface PluX22 according to NEM 658 is state-of-the-art and a decoder can be easily plugged in. This center conductor model has a suitable sound decoder installed at the factory, which can be used with the mfx® digital protocol. The buffer beam of the vehicle can be completed prototypically using the included accessories.
