New in 2024: Modern diesel locomotives shape everyday life in freight and shunting traffic. And of course the striking DE 18 from Vossloh should not be missing here. With this machine, the PIKO designers have once again succeeded in converting a model into the H0 size with flying colors. The result is a model that excellently reproduces the overall appearance and characteristics of the DE 18, and has a variety of details, including extremely three-dimensional engravings of the ventilation grilles and bogies with an excellent optical depth effect. The powerful motor with two flywheels ensures smooth running, and the pulling force is increased by two diagonally arranged traction tires. In conjunction with a digital decoder, many prototypical lighting functions can be switched. The attractive driver's cab and driver's desk lighting is part of good form with new PIKO designs. The new PIKO design is factory-equipped with a PSD XP sound decoder with the largest possible loudspeaker.
The model bears the “fits mfx®” quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital centers, a new quality mark “fits mfx®” was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx® test and have passed it completely.
These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the “fits mfx®” quality mark, which indicates unrestricted mfx ® Functionality certified. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx®” logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
