Novelty 2024: Form variant of the Austrian Rh 1010 of the ÖBB in Era III. The technically sophisticated and contemporary PIKO Expert model is characterized by a faithful implementation of its original locomotive with the finest paintwork and printing. Equipped with a powerful five-pole motor, which was combined with two precisely balanced flywheels, the PIKO model impresses with high pulling power, excellent running smoothness and prototypical maximum speed. The model is factory-equipped with a PSD XP sound decoder including the largest possible loudspeaker and has digitally switchable lighting in the driver's cabs.

The model bears the "fits mfx®" quality mark. In order to make digital decoders reliably usable for all users of the current Märklin digital centers, a new quality mark “fits mfx®” was introduced together with Märklin and other manufacturers. This can only be used by digital decoders that have undergone a special mfx® test and have passed it completely.
These decoders and the locomotives in which they are installed bear the “fits mfx®” quality mark, which indicates unrestricted mfx ® Functionality certified. This means that PIKO products with the “fits mfx®” logo now fully support the diverse functions of mfx®.
