Novelty 2022: With the PIKO BR 83.10 from the DR there is now an operational, large-scale model of this extraordinary locomotive type. In keeping with the special nature of the prototype, the finely detailed PIKO model can also present itself as an outstanding locomotive. The striking locomotive in a double-domed design with triple headlights impresses with its excellent implementation of the original proportions and features a variety of specially attached parts, including many fine cables, smoke deflectors, bell, whistle, lids on the water tanks, alternator, steps to the buffer beam , ladders, hand poles, heating cables and sand pipes. The fine spoke wheels, the filigree controls and the detailed cab interior make the locomotive an eye-catcher on the layout. The PIKO BR 83.10 is also technically state-of-the-art and has driver's cab lighting, chassis lighting and an LED headlight. The powerful engine, in combination with 2 built-in traction tires, ensures sufficient pulling power for all prototypical train combinations. The sound locomotives have a PSD S SoundDecoder ex works and already have a smoke generator. Brake hoses, tow hooks and long protective tubes are included with the model. The locomotive appears as it was delivered in 1955. Distinctive features are the locomotive boiler with two domes and sandboxes on the locomotive circuit. The 83.10 series is another superheated steam engine, which is characterized by a long control cable on the boiler side and a small steam collection container on the top of the boiler.
