Finally, a contemporary replacement of the very popular and previously widespread BR 78 comes in the form of a new design from PIKO - and with it the first steam locomotive in the Expert product line. The model sets the established standard of the Expert range a little higher. Almost all cables were free-standing, and the driver's cab, water tanks and smoke chamber were decorated with the finest replicas of the rivet heads. The wheelset stars and controls were made extremely delicate thanks to the materials used. The five-pole PIKO motor with flywheel ensures excellent driving characteristics. Additional weights in the boiler and two traction tires generate high pulling power. Thanks to the modern PluX22 interface, retrofitting a decoder is child's play. A loudspeaker and a smoke device can also be installed later with minimal effort. The direction-dependent LED lighting ensures an authentic operating atmosphere.
